Max Entries Per File
A single XML sitemap cannot hold more than 50,000 URL elements. Larger websites must use sitemap index files.
Max Uncompressed Size
The uncompressed XML file must not exceed 50MB. Sitemaps can be gzip compressed (.xml.gz) to save bandwidth.
Mandatory Encoding
All URLs must be UTF-8 encoded with properly escaped XML characters (&, ", ', <, >).
